Invesco built its European position on synthetic replication, and that remains the reason to look at it. Its swap-based S&P 500 fund has historically tracked its index more closely after tax than physical rivals, because the swap counterparty absorbs US dividend withholding tax. Invesco is also the default route to the Nasdaq-100 for European investors, and it runs a well-regarded physically backed gold ETC alongside a growing commodities and thematic lineup.

Swap-based funds introduce counterparty risk and depend on favourable tax treatment continuing. The thematic range is younger and smaller than the flagships suggest.
