VanEck is a mid-sized issuer that competes on ideas rather than scale. It brought semiconductors, moat investing, gold miners and crypto-adjacent equity baskets to European investors before the larger houses did, and those funds are still the reference products in their niches. It also runs a very cheap developed-world tracker and a defence fund that became one of Europe's fastest-growing ETFs. Portfolios are concentrated by design, so position sizing matters more here than with a core index fund.
